It is sad to announce that the Reverend Canon Ian Howarth’s time in our parish is coming to an end in June. Ian was commissioned on 11 January 2014 at the Anglican Parish of Kyneton when he moved with his family from Toronto NSW. He has continued his work with our parish for over seven years. He was the first Central Highlands Cluster leader when it was formed in 2016 with Woodend. He has also been the Rural Dean for the Mount Alexander Deanery since 2015,a Canon of St Paul’s Cathedral Bendigo since 2016 and ABM Diocesan Representative since 2019. He has also been involved in the community in roles with Kyneton RSL, Braemar Board of Governors as the Bishop’s representative and the Kyneton Farmer’s Market. Last year Ian celebrated 25 years in November 2020 since he was ordained priest.
Allison's contribution to the life of the parish has been greatly appreciated. She has been the parish's Mission Secretary since 2017, has run the Children's Activity Stall at the Kyneton Farmer's Market and since 2015 has painted the parish's Paschal Candles. She has also been a dedicated artist with Kyneton Art Group as of 2015.
James' has looked after the parish's website and social media platform since 2015. He's been on the serving team and since covid has helped with live streaming our services.
Riley and Alex have supported both Ian and Allison with Riley playing the Organ and Alex doing craft and puzzles with his Nana.
Ian, Allison and James will be missed by all in the parish as they prepare to pursue their ministry in the Parish of Castlemaine.
Fr Ian’s last Sunday in the Parish will be a Patronal Eucharist at St Paul’s at 10.30am on 20 June 2021 for the feast of St Peter and St Paul.
