Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,
Welcome to worship on the Third Sunday of Easter. A special warm welcome to Fr Malcolm Thomas this morning as he comes to lead our worship whilst I am on Leave. Welcome also to James McClure at St John’s helping to lead our singing with some beautiful tones on the organ.
Someone once asked me, “Why does the Church celebrate Easter for so long?” In many ways we celebrate a little Easter every Sunday of the year and indeed every time we celebrate Eucharist, recalling Christ’s redemption and victory over death and feeding us with his life and love. To extend the season also helps and reminds us of our responsibility as today’s disciples to witness to the resurrection in the simple ways of our everyday lives.
May you journey well with the risen Christ this week.
