Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Welcome to worship as we celebrate the Third Sunday of Easter and the continuing Easter Season. Christ is risen, alleluia! Last week the clergy of the Diocese were together with Bishop Matt for Clergy Conference. Our guest speaker was The Revd Dr Brian Douglas with the central theme of Eucharistic Theology. His presentations were insightful and especially the reminder that Eucharist is the fundamental and central act of our life and worship. As we feed on Christ in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving, we are being sustained for God’s work and ministry in the world. This is so from our baptism and the many and varied ways God’s calls his people (the priesthood of all believers) to be the presence of Christ in the world. It is was good to be refreshed and to spend some time with sister and brother clergy and to hear also of other significant ways people are living out their faith in the life of their communities. To be embodied with the life of Jesus and to experience all the benefits of community with others of faith can both sustain us and provide guidance and direction for our continued path of discipleship. May we journey well with Christ this week. Fr Ian Howarth
