Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Welcome to worship as we celebrate Palm Sunday and the beginning of the great week of the Christian Year; Holy Week. Today as well as recalling Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem is also a day upon which we recall his Passion. Jesus willingness to give up his own life, in order that we may find the life we are called to and the kind of disciples we are beckoned to be. Holy Week provides great opportunities of journeying into the central events of our faith that led Jesus to the cross and ultimately to defeat the power of death and declare God’s new and abundant life for all who seek it in the Resurrection. This week we enter into the deep mystery that is declared in one of the acclamations during the Eucharistic Prayer: ‘Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.’ Will you come and join in the great commemorations we have during this week; especially Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil and Easter Day. Times and locations for these are printed both in the bulletin and on the separate sheet. Why not take the time this week to invite someone you know to come along and join in the journey. May we journey well with Christ during this Holy Week. Fr Ian
