Welcome to worship as we celebrate Easter Day and beginning of the Easter Season. Christ is risen, alleluia!
As I was reflecting on the last few days, I can now rejoice that Christ is risen and that this is evident today in the lives of people. Thank you to all who have helped make the journey through the last week a special one. A special one in that Christ has been visible in your lives; by things you have shared, spoken and through actions.
There was a great spirit of togetherness in our Holy Week liturgies and in our Combined Churches gathering and walk. Christ continues to be visible today as we meet to sing ‘Alleluias’ and as we pray and share. I am also confident that Christ will continue to be visible as we go out from here to love and serve him in all our various ways.
How might we be able to best serve the risen Christ in our daily life this week? What may you feel called to do in your life that makes that sense of difference for someone else? As Augustine of Hippo wrote: ‘We are an Easter people, alleluia is our song.’ How we go about singing the song with voices, hearts and hands is imperative.
May we journey well with Christ this Eastertide,
